Mammootty’s much-anticipated game thriller ‘Bazooka’ has wrapped up its first week at the box office with a total India net collection of Rs 11.70 crore. While the film had a promising start, it witnessed a steady dip in collections over the week, with Day 7 earnings dropping to just Rs 50 lakh (early estimates), according to the Sacnilk website.

Collections are slipping
Directed by Deeno Dennis, ‘Bazooka’ opened with Rs 3.2 crore on Day 1 (Thursday). However, the film couldn’t maintain its initial momentum. On Friday, it saw a 34.38% drop to Rs 2.1 crore, followed by Rs 2 crore on Saturday and Rs 1.7 crore on Sunday. The trend of decline continued into the weekdays, with Monday bringing in Rs 1.43 crore and Tuesday slipping to Rs 77 lakhs.

Occupancy rates
Occupancy numbers also reflected the drop in audience interest. On Wednesday, Bazooka recorded an overall Malayalam occupancy of just 11.73%. The highest turnout was during night shows, peaking at 18.01%, with cities like Kochi (12.75%) and Trivandrum (10.50%) showing relatively better audience engagement. Bengaluru and Chennai also reported modest attendance.
The film features a strong ensemble cast including Gautham Vasudev Menon, Shine Tom Chacko, Divya Pillai, Anoop Menon, Sumit Naval, Sidharth Bharathan, and Ishwarya Menon alongside Mammootty. Despite the presence of prominent names and a decent premise, ‘Bazooka’ appears to be facing an uphill climb in terms of sustaining box office performance in its second week.
What next?
With collections now dipping below the Rs 1 crore mark per day, the coming weekend will be crucial in determining the film's overall theatrical success.
