Ajay Devgn is back as an income tax officer in his new film Raid 2. The trailer was launched today in Mumbai. Ajay returns as the brave officer Amay Patnaik, while Riteish Deshmukh plays a powerful and corrupt politician. The film will show a strong face-off between the two characters.
Ajay’s witty response to a quirky question
At the trailer launch, Ajay was asked a funny question—what if a raid happened at Salman Khan or Shah Rukh Khan’s house? The unexpected question surprised him, but his witty response made everyone laugh.

No real raids, just movie drama
The actor responded humorously, saying that since he only plays an officer in the film, he wouldn’t actually be raiding anyone’s house. He joked that if there were ever a raid at Salman or Shah Rukh’s place, he’d just be relaxing at home, so there’s nothing for him to manage.
Trailer teases intense battle between good and evil
In the Raid 2 trailer, Ajay returns as the fearless IRS officer Amay Patnaik, ready for his 75th and most challenging raid yet. This time, he's going after a clever and corrupt politician, Dadabhai, played by Riteish Deshmukh. The trailer hints at a gripping face-off, with Ajay's character planning a smart and strategic takedown inspired by the Mahabharat. Vaani Kapoor adds a fresh romantic angle, while Saurabh Shukla’s return from the first film has fans excited.

Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, Raid 2 will hit theatres on May 1. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar. It follows the 2018 film Raid, which was set in 1981 and revolved around an income tax officer in Lucknow fighting corruption to support the underprivileged.
