With the monsoon season around the corner, music composer Debojyoti Mishra and Bengali singer Madhuchhanda Ganguly have come together to release a new Bengali song titled
Meghe Meghe Mon Barsha. The track, now available on streaming platforms, is a refreshing addition to the season’s music and marks the singer’s first official music video.
Written and composed by Debojyoti Mishra, the song captures the feeling of rain and changing weather through simple yet expressive lyrics and a soothing melody. Known for his work on a number of popular songs, Mishra praised Madhuchhanda for bringing a fresh and personal touch to the composition.
“Madhuchhanda is a gifted artist with great potential,” Debojyoti said. “She adds her own character to the music. In
Meghe Meghe Mon Barsha, she has beautifully expressed the different moods of the monsoon, which helped me explore new creative directions in the arrangement.”
Madhuchhanda, who is based abroad, spoke warmly about the experience of working with Mishra. “Our first meeting was at a café in south Kolkata. I immediately felt that he was a sensitive and emotional person,” she recalled. “When he sent me the song, I connected with it right away. The lyrics and tune felt beautiful from the start, and singing it made the experience even more meaningful.”
She added that working with a veteran like Mishra was a learning experience. “Since this was my first music video, I didn’t know much about the process. But Debu
da guided me through everything. This collaboration is a special moment in my life. I hope to continue singing new Bengali songs in the future.”
