Female students lag behind even with higher participation numbers

A record participation of 5,55,950 girls marked West Bengal Madhaymik exams this year, however, female candidates continue to lag behind their male counterparts in terms of performance.
The pass percentage for male students stood at 89.19 per cent, while that for female students was notably lower at 84.39 per cent, a gap of nearly five percentage points. This persistent disparity remains a point of concern, particularly considering the increasing enrollment of girls in the examination system..
