In a significant development, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has extended the registration deadline for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025 prelims. The revised deadline for candidates to submit their applications is now February 18, 2025, by 6:00 PM. This extension provides a valuable opportunity for prospective candidates who missed the initial deadline of February 11, 2025, to complete their registration.

The extension announcement was made through an official notice issued by the UPSC. The Commission has also provided candidates with a window to make corrections to their application forms, which will be available from February 19 to February 25, 2025. This allows applicants to rectify any mistakes or update their information before the final submission.

Important dates for UPSC CSE prelims 2025
The UPSC CSE 2025 preliminary examination is scheduled to take place on May 25, 2025, across various examination centres in the country. This exam will serve as the first step in the selection process for the prestigious civil services posts in the Indian government. Along with the new registration deadline, the Commission has also confirmed that approximately 979 vacancies will be filled through the examination, with 38 reserved for candidates in the Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) category.

The exam schedule for UPSC CSE 2025 is as follows: the One Time Registration (OTR) began on January 22, 2025, with the last date for registration now set to February 18, 2025. Following this, the admit cards will be issued to the candidates, which will be available a week prior to the examination date, as per UPSC guidelines.
