AAP leader Atishi questions law and order situation in Delhi over Seelampur murder case

NEW DELHI: AAP leader Atishi on Friday raised concerns about Delhi's law and order following the death of a 17-year-old in Seelampur.
She posted on social media X, "The murder of a 17-year-old youth in Seelampur is another example of the deteriorating law and order situation in Delhi. What is the Delhi Police doing? What is Home Minister Amit Shah doing? What is the double-engine government doing?"

The Seelampur police station has registered a case, with teams working to identify and apprehend the perpetrator, according to officials.
The incident sparked protests from the victim's family and locals, who blocked roads demanding immediate action and justice. Authorities increased police presence in the area to maintain order, with substantial deployment visible at the scene.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari addressed the murder of Kunal, the 17-year-old victim, on Friday.

He posted on X, "The murder of a 17-year-old Dalit youth named Kunal in Seelampur is extremely concerning. I have been in touch with the district and senior police officers since last night. Most of the criminals have been identified, and a thorough investigation is ongoing against the rest. The criminals may try to hide anywhere, but they will be arrested soon and will get severe punishment."
Tiwari added, "The anger is understandable, but I appeal to the people of the area to maintain restraint and allow law enforcement to carry out their duties." He announced plans to visit the location by 2.30pm to support the bereaved family.
Delhi Police reported that the teenager was stabbed and taken to hospital, where he died during treatment. The Seelampur police station has registered a case and formed teams to locate and arrest the attacker.
