NEW DELHI: Leaked chat logs from US intelligence agencies reveal government officials making disparaging remarks about Chaya Raichik, the creator of the conservative social media account "Libs of TikTok," and conservative commentator Ben Shapiro.
The messages, reportedly from NSA, DIA, and Navy intelligence officials, were shared by journalist Christopher Rufo, who described the exchanges as deeply personal and politically charged.
In the messages, one intelligence official referred to Raichik as a "fucking monster," while another suggested she should be "expelled from the tribe." A discussion about Shapiro also surfaced, with one agent writing, "Ben is like having a relative who constantly spouts hate speech and pretends your entire family agrees with him." Another official supported the idea of expelling Shapiro, saying, "I for expelling Ben too."
Raichik reacted to the leaked messages on X, stating, "I'm framing this for my wall."
The leaked logs also contained a separate discussion about Raichik's suspension from Twitter in 2022. One DIA agent remarked, "7-day suspension right now. Won't be surprised if it becomes perm, because she has been inciting violence against hospitals." Another added that she had set up a legal defense fund and speculated that the IRS would take action, stating, "IRS will crush her eventually, I suspect."
Christopher Rufo posted about the leak, writing: "NSA, DIA, and Navy intel officials blast libsoftiktok as a 'fucking monster' and argue that benshapiro should be 'expelled from the tribe' for 'constantly spout[ing] hate speech.' They also slur Italian-Americans as 'terrible people.'"
The leaks also come amid a separate controversy involving intelligence officials engaging in explicit conversations on government communication channels. Chat logs allegedly from the NSA’s internal messaging platform contained discussions about sexual fetishes, group sex, and gender-affirming procedures, raising concerns about workplace conduct and operational security.
CIA public affairs director Liz Lyons responded to the revelations and said, "The messages published today from an NSA messaging platform allegedly involving a CIA official are unacceptable and have no place at the Agency. The CIA will be taking immediate action on this matter which only further proves the need for serious reform."
The leaked exchanges have sparked outrage, particularly among conservative circles. Elon Musk weighed in on the matter, stating, "MAJOR housecleaning is needed" at US spy agencies.
While the intelligence agencies have yet to confirm the full extent of the leak, the revelations ignited debates over political bias within government institutions and the appropriateness of internal communications among intelligence personnel.
