The first look character photos of 'House of the Dragon', the prequel to the epic fantasy series 'Game of Thrones', are here and they are all things impressive.
The makers dropped the official first photos of the cast featuring Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and
Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon aka The Sea Snake,
Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower and Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower.
The spinoff is based on 'Fire & Blood', a companion book to
George R.R. Martin‘s 'Song of Fire and Ice' saga.
The pilot of the new prequel is set 300 years before the events of the flagship series and tells the story of House Targaryen, rich in the dragonlord ancestors of Daenerys, played by
Emilia Clarke.
'House of the Dragon' was one of the four remaining spinoffs in the works at the network. The others are on hold, which could be indefinite — or temporary.
While the series has gone into production, it is currently eyeing a 2022 release.
