Hamas Rejects U.S. Demilitarisation Plan, Calls It ‘Meaningless As Long As Israeli Occupation Exists'

Hamas official Hussam Badran rejected U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff’s proposal that Hamas should demilitarize to maintain a political role in Gaza. Badran called the suggestion “meaningless” as long as Israel’s occupation continues, emphasizing that Hamas’ weapons are essential for Palestinian resistance under international law.
