President Donald Trump said he “assumes Ukraine will honor” a long-anticipated mineral resources deal with the United States, expected to be signed Wednesday. Ukrainian Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko is in Washington to finalize the technical details. Ukraine’s Cabinet is expected to approve the agreement’s text ahead of the signing, after which it must be ratified by the Ukrainian parliament. The deal is seen as a key move to secure access to Ukraine’s vast reserves of rare earths and critical minerals.
