Did you know Amitabh Bachchan's iconic steel-armed outfit in 'Shahenshah' was not the first choice of director Tinnu Anand?

Amitabh Bachchan starrer 1988 film 'Shahenshah' is one of the iconic movies in the history of Indian cinema, and so was his outfit in the film - a leather jacket with a metal arm. But did you know this was not the first costume finalised by the makers? Yes. Director Tinnu Anand recently revealed that the steel outfit was not their original option and that the designer took his first choice and gave it to Jeetendra. During a conversation with Radio Nasha, Tinnu Anand shared, 'I designed the costume personally. With the help of Amitabh’s designer, Akbar, we came up with a black leather outfit: black pants and boots. I even added a rope around his shoulder.' Further, while disclosing how Big B's designer 'cheated' Anand, the filmmaker said, 'Akbar, however, gave that outfit to Jeetendra for one of his films in which he was wearing the same costume, just with the rope. I was angry, disappointed, and hurt.' Reportedly, Jeetendra wore the same costume in the film 'Aag Aur Shola', starring Sridevi. Notably, after this incident, Tinnu Anand decided to never work with Akbar and collaborated with Kishore Bajaj, another well-known designer at the time, who finally made the steel-armed outfit that weighed 14 kg.
