Salil Ankola on ventilator support after testing COVID-19 positive

Cricketer turned actor Salil Ankola was recently diagnosed with COVID-19 ahead of his birthday and was put on a ventilator. The actor himself broke the news on social media a few days back and shared a picture of himself from the hospital and captioned it as, 'Bringing in my birthday tomorrow with COVID 19 catching up with me. Unforgettable birthday. It's scary to go through this but will be needing all your blessings to come through with this. Will be back soon full throttle'. Notably, after getting down with the virus, the actor quarantined himself at home only but later shifted to hospital after his health deteriorated. In his conversation with ETimes, the cricketer turned actor revealed he is feeling a little better now but very shaken up. He said, 'It all began when I was about to fly out to Jaipur and hence underwent a COVID test. I was shocked that the test came out positive.' While revealing he was home quarantined initially, he started feeling uncomfortable due to congestion in the chest after which his wife Riya and doctor decided to shift him to the hospital. He said, 'My oxygen level had dropped to 80 and I was rushed to a hospital. I was breathless when I was wheeled in. Immediately, I was put on a ventilator. I was admitted on February 28 at 5 am. I developed cough and fever and now they say I have COVID-induced pneumonia'. He concluded by saying, 'It has been a scary time. I hope to be out of this in the next 7 days.'
