Ayesha Jhulka says, 'I felt my talent was not really explored' as she opens up on cutting down films and staying away from limelight

Film 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar' famed actress Ayesha Jhulka, who once used to rule the heart of her fans, quit the showbiz when she was at the peak of her career. Now, in a conversation with a news portal, the actress opened up on her decision of cutting down on films and revealed that she realised that she was doing similar roles and not 'performance oriented'. She said, 'I wanted to do something that’s going to be performance-oriented. I felt my talent was not really explored the way I could have performed. That wouldn’t have happened if I was in this rat race. I consciously cut down on films after my biggest hit, 'Dalaal' in 1993. I’m glad I did, otherwise, I’d have been doing the same stuff.' She further added, 'When I was young, I didn’t realise it. When you’re at that age, you also get roles that are similar — running around trees, love angles. One would’ve never thought that we should do some performance-oriented roles. Uss age mein milte bhi nahi the, all the senior artistes used to get the mature roles in terms of performance.' She also confessed her love for acting and said, 'I may not miss being in the limelight as much, but I definitely miss working in films because that has always been my first love. I’ve always loved being in front of the camera, on set. I’m passionate about doing good work.'
