MasterChef India's Chef Vikas Khanna receives Michelin 2024 Bib Gourmand Award; pens a heartfelt note as Shah Rukh Khan graces his restaurant

Chef Vikas Khanna's New York restaurant, Bungalow, has eight Michelin stars after more than 40 years of professional cooking, making the Michelin 2024 Bib Gourmand Award even more noteworthy, according to the chef. This café, which pays homage to India's country clubs, is a tribute to his sister, the late fashion designer Radhika Khanna, who died in 2022. It has been named one of the greatest value-for-money Indian eateries.
They started barely nine months ago, on March 23, and have already fed one lakh visitors. The New York Times recently named them one of the top 14 new eateries. However, Khanna has already set a nine-year and three-month closing date for this eatery.
The Masterchef India judge, cookbook author, and restaurateur Vikas has hosted some of the biggest names, including businessman Mukesh Ambani and his daughter Isha Ambani, actors Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan, Sara Jessica Parker, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and her husband, singer Nick Jonas, comedian Vir Das, and others.

Vikas even penned a heartfelt note as Shah Rukh Khan graced his restaurant, he wrote, 'My life revolves around 3 people - BK, SK and SRK. My Maa, Sanjeev Kapoor & The King.'
Vikas added, "When SRK visited Bungalow & asked me to sit with him. As we spoke about me going to the cinema everyday to watch DDLJ with my sister and every movie of his. He became my hero for who he is. His voice. His patience. His confidence. His compassion. His friendship. To hold back my tears I looked up at the glass ceiling & saw the clear crescent of the moon watching over me."

Vikas then thanked SRK, "People who lose the ones they loved the most, always find signs of them watching over us. Today is dedicated to you Sir. You holding my hand and saying, “Bungalow represents us. Our parents. Our ancestors. Our India”. This is everything to a scared-paranoid-failed child from Amritsar."
