Hina Khan, one of television's most recognisable faces, recently made news after being named one of the most sought-after actors of 2024. It's no secret that this year has been difficult for her because she is battling stage 3 breast cancer. The actress, known for her great performances in TV shows such as Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, responded to the acclaim on social media in an honest manner.
Hina Khan posted a screenshot of the news on her Instagram story, but she noted that the recognition did not make her proud or happy. In her poignant message, she added, "I see a lot of people putting up stories and congratulating me on this new development. But honestly, for me, it's neither an achievement nor something to be proud of."
She went on to convey her opinion, stating that she wishes no one would be searched online because of their health struggles and diagnoses. “I pray that no one should be googled because of their diagnosis or health-related hardships. I have always appreciated people's genuine regard and respect for my journey in these testing times,” she wrote.
Hina emphasised that she would rather be known and recognised for her work and accomplishments, as she has been throughout her career. "I would rather be googled or known or acknowledged for my work or achievements. Just like I have been before and during my diagnosis," concluded the actress.
Besides Hina Khan, other Indians who have cemented their places among the top-selected celebrities internationally in Google's 2024 trends are Pawan Kalyan and Nimrat Kaur.
