Aditya Srivastava has been a part of showbiz for over two decades and has acted in a number of films, but what has given him most recognition is his role in the TV show
CID.
Avinash played the role of Abhijeet in CID for 20 years and the actor is now thrilled about the show coming back to television after a six-year break. Aditya says, "Just like everyone else, we are very excited too about CID returning to the small screen. We are all pumped up to shoot for the show soon. For now, we have just shot a promo, but we will strt shooting full-fledged soon. The show is likely to go on air in December, but that's not finalised yet."
He adds, "I hope that audiences show an equal amount of love and support to the show as they did earlier."
CID was launched in 1998 and went on until 2018. There has been a constant buzz about the show returning, however it's only now that things are concrete. Aditya says, "There were talks in the past too, but nothing worked out. This time around the channel wanted it back on TV as it has been one of the most watched and loved shows. Things worked out and
Shivaji Satam (aka ACP Pradyuman),
Dayanand Shetty (aka
Daya) and I came on board. We are emotionally connected with this show and we have a lot of memories. We couldn't be happier."
Aditya says people often refer to him as Abhijit, his CID character. He shares, "Even though I have done 20 films and other projects, people still recognise me as Abhijeet from CID. It feels good because that means it's a character that the audience loves watching and it stays with them even after the show goes off air."
