Pete Davidson is setting the record straight on his relationship with Ariana Grande, making it clear that there is no bad blood between them. In a recent interview with Page Six ahead of SNL50: The Anniversary Special, the comedian spoke warmly about his ex-fiancée and even praised her recent Academy Award nomination.
“When we see each other, which is few and far between, because we’re not in the same circles, it’s all love,” Davidson, 31, said of Grande, who is also 31. Expressing his support for the Wicked star, he added, “I hope she wins the Oscar, I hope she takes the gold.”
Davidson and Grande had a whirlwind romance in 2018, getting engaged just weeks after they started dating in May. However, their engagement ended in October of the same year. Since their split, both have moved on to other relationships—Davidson recently ended his romance with actress Madelyn Cline in July 2024, while Grande has been linked to her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater since 2023.
Reflecting on his past relationships, Davidson noted that things have generally ended on good terms. “I’ve had some pretty adult relationships with some pretty amazing women, and when it’s ended it’s been cool,” he said. However, he also acknowledged the public scrutiny surrounding his love life, admitting that it has been difficult to navigate. “It was pretty humiliating and upsetting, honestly,” he shared.
Despite the challenges, Davidson remains supportive of his former fiancée and seems to have nothing but good wishes for Grande as she continues her successful career. Fans were quick to appreciate his mature and positive attitude, with many praising his ability to handle past relationships with grace.
