The sudden demise of eminent singer and music composer Bappi Lahiri has left music lovers in a state of grief. Just like millions, eminent singer Kumar Sanu is deeply saddened. He is one of the many great admirers of Bappi Lahiri.
Kumar Sanu shared a note expressing his grief over the irreparable loss. Mourning the loss of the evergreen singer and composer, Kumar Sanu wrote, “Really shocked by very dear Bappi Da’s demise🙏 You’ll always be in our hearts.I still can’t believe it. Met him few days back and he was so lively. Have so many memories of him…May God gives strength to the family. Dada ap Amar ho . Om Shanti. (sic)”

Kumar Sanu, who is currently a part of the Bengali reality show ‘Super Singer Season 3’, shared a very close bond with the late music personality. On several occasions, he spoke about his admiration for Bappi Lahiri and called him an ‘inspiration’.
In one of the recent episodes of ‘Super Singer Season 3’, Kumar Sanu shared his experience of working with the ace music personality. He shared a particular incident to highlight how Bappi Lahiri could compose songs instantly. Praising Bappi Lahiri’s innate passion and talent, Kumar Sanu shared how the singer-composer once instantly composed the‘antara’ of a song in the recording studio.
“Bappi Da was in a hurry on that day. I reached the recording studio on time. He arrived 10 minutes after me. He asked others – track banaya tumne? (have you composed the track). They replied- Bappi Da, we have composed the Mukhra you gave us,” said Kumar Sanu on the show.
He (Kumar Sanu) asked Bappi Da whether he would come later to record the song since it is yet to be fully composed. “I was shocked by the fact that the song I am about to sing is yet to be composed. I asked Bappi Da if I should come later. But he asked me to wait for 10 minutes. He composed the Antara on the spot, sang and recorded it, too. Then he taught me the entire song,” Kumar Sanu said.
The sudden demise of Bappi Lahiri has left the entire country mourning. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also expressed her deepest grief over the loss. Many other eminent personalities and industry veterans have shared their sadness over the loss.
