Anirban Bhattacharya starrer ‘Byomkesh’ to entertain the audience with a new season

Here’s a piece of good news for all the fans of actor Anirban Bhattacharya. After earning praises for his Bollywood debut ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway’, Anirban is ready for his new OTT project. He is set to entertain the audience as Byomkesh Bakshi in the 8th season of the web series. The upcoming season is adapted from Byomkesh Bakshi’s ‘Chiriykhana’, written by eminent author Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay.Titled ‘Pinjraploe’, the upcoming series is slated to stream next month on a leading Bengali OTT platform.
The new season of the detective series promises to feature an ensemble cast that includes some of the most popular artists of this industry besides Anirban as Byomkesh. The cast members include actors Bhaswar Chatterjee, Ridhima Ghosh, Moitree Banerjee, Anuska Chakraborty, Sampurnaa Mandal and others playing prominent roles.
The past few seasons have managed to woo the audience with Anirban playing Satyanweshi Byomkesh Bakshi. Versatile actor Subrat Dutta essayed Byomkesh Bakshi’s friend and confidante Ajit till season 3 while artist Suprobhat Das replaced him in season 4. Mandaar's co-writer Pratik Dutta has been roped in this series also. Sudipto Roy is directing the new season.
Interestingly, none other than Satyajit Ray directed a film based on Byomkesh Bakshi’s Chiriykhana, which featured Mahanayak Uttam Kumar essaying the truth seeker while actor Shailen Mukherjee played Ajit Kumar.
