Samsung is expected to host its next Galaxy Unpacked event in July and the South Korean company may debut its next-generation foldable smartphones as well as its first Galaxy smart ring at the event. Now, a new report suggests that the company may also unveil its next-generation Galaxy smartwatch at the same event.
The purported Samsung smartwatch – which may be called the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 – was recently spotted online on Bluetooth SIG certification website.
The listing was first spotted by Sammobile.
As per the certification website, the rumoured Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 may come with Bluetooth version 5.3. This is the same Bluetooth version which the company used in last year’s Galaxy Watch 6.
The report also adds that the upcoming smartwatch will come with 32GB internal storage. The smartwatch is also said to be powered by Samsung’s first 3nm chipset, which is said to be 50% more efficient as compared to the one used in Galaxy Watch 6.
Apart from this, no other information about the smartwatch is available as of now.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 may sport a new designEarlier this year, a report by Sammobile claimed that Samsung may bring back the rectangular design with the Galaxy Watch 7 series. The reason for Samsung's move to a square design is not known, the report added.
Although Wear OS can support square displays, notably, most of the apps – including Samsung's One UI – are optimised for circular layouts. It seems that Samsung is likely trying to compete with the
Apple Watch by making the decision of changing the wearables design.
