Apple unveiled the new Apple Watch Series 10 at the “It’s Glowtime” event. The Series 10 marks the 10th anniversary of Apple Watch, which was first unveiled on the same day, i.e., September 9, 2014. The Apple Watch Series 10 has been redesigned from ground up, featuring the “largest and most advanced display for Apple Watch.”

Apple Watch Series features an all new display, and thinner design

The Watch Series 10 features a wide-angle OLED screen, having a more rounded screen and a wider aspect ratio.
Compared to the previous generation, the screen is 40 percent brighter. Apple says the Watch Series 10’s new design makes the watch feel “more alive.”
It’s also the thinnest Apple Watch ever, measuring at 9.7mm, which makes it 10 percent smaller than the Series 9. The stainless steel model of Watch Series 10 will come in Jet Black, Silver Aluminium, and Rose Gold.
The 10th anniversary model will also come in titanium casing, which weighs 20 percent less than the stainless steel model of Watch Series 9. This titanium case of Series 10 is 100 percent carbon neutral, and it’ll be available in three colours – natural, gold, and dark slate gray. With matching metal bands.
The Series 10 has a new metal back, having a bigger charging coil that can get 80 per cent of charge in 30 minutes.

Apple’s S10 SiP to power Watch Series 10

The Watch Series 10 packs an all-new processor, the S10 SiP. The new S10 chip boasts a four-core neural engine, designed to deliver a range of “intelligent features you use daily.” Apple is firmly emphasizing its commitment to AI, introducing a “new neural network that effectively suppresses background noise.”

Sleep apnea detection comes to Apple Watch; also gets some ‘Ultra’ features

Coming to Watch Series 10 is the much anticipated sleep apnea detection. Apple Watch can detect sleep apnea with motion detection by using the accelerometer.
The Series 10 comes equipped with a built-in depth gauge and a water temperature sensor. It’s specifically designed for snorkeling, and the Oceanic+ app is set to be released for the Series 10, offering enhanced snorkeling features.
The Apple Watch starts at $399 or Rs 46,900 for GPS variant, meanwhile the GPS+Cellular variant comes at a starting price of $499 or Rs 49,900. The Series 10 goes on pre-orders today, i.e. September 9, and will be available for purchase starting September 20.
