Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has maintained its hiring momentum, adding 5,726 employees in the second quarter of fiscal year 2025. This follows a similar trend from the previous quarter, signaling a reversal of the declining headcount trend seen earlier. In the first quarter of the fiscal year 2025, the Tata group subsidiary had reversed the declining headcount trend by adding 5452 employees after a drop of three consecutive quarters.
As of September 2023, TCS's total employee count touched 612,724, a significant increase from the previous quarter. The company has been actively recruiting fresh talent, having welcomed over 11,000 new associates in the first half of the year.
TCS's Chief HR Officer Milind Lakkad expressed confidence in the company's hiring strategy, stating that they remain on track for planned trainee onboarding and have already initiated the campus hiring process for the next fiscal year.
TCS has projected to hire 40,000 freshers during the ongoing fiscal year ending March 2025.Lakkad said, “We have also commenced the campus hiring process for FY26. Our strong talent base and increased learning intensity prepares us well for the complex technology transformations that customers entrust us with.”
