Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS) is set to declare its financial results today, with analysts expecting Q2 earnings growth to be in the low single digit. The IT services company, according to a PTI report, has cancelled its press conference and interviews due to the death of Ratan Tata, chairman emeritus of Tata Sons. Citing company officials, the report said that TCS will inform the exchanges about its July-September performance after the board meeting as originally scheduled. A scheduled call with analysts at 7 pm will be held as per schedule, they said.

However, the press conference that was originally scheduled at 5:30pm in the evening today has been cancelled.

In the previous quarter Q1 FY25, TCS posted a 9% increase in net profit, reaching Rs 12,040 crore, up from Rs 11,074 crore in the same period last year. Revenue from operations grew by 5%, totaling Rs 62,613 crore for the June 2024 quarter, compared to Rs 59,381 crore in the year-ago quarter.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai took to X (formerly Twitter) to honor the memory of Ratan Tata, the legendary industrialist who passed away at the age of 86. "My last meeting with Ratan Tata at Google, we talked about the progress of Waymo and his vision was inspiring to hear," Pichai tweeted. He praised Tata's "extraordinary business and philanthropic legacy" and his instrumental role in mentoring and developing modern business leadership in India.

Pichai emphasised Tata's deep commitment to improving India, stating, "He deeply cared about making India better." He concluded his message with condolences to Tata's loved ones.
