The new design aims to be simpler, more intuitive, and more responsive to user preferences, featuring easier discoveries, better shortcuts, and smarter recommendations. Additionally, Netflix is testing AI-powered search and a vertical video feed for its mobile app.

Netflix is bringing a new TV homepage design that is simpler, more intuitive, and more responsive to what users want. Announcing the release of a new home page in the coming weeks and months, the streaming platform shared a blog post stating “our members across the world will get to experience the updated TV homepage for themselves.” This marks Netflix’s first major redesign of the TV homepage since 2013.Chief Product Officer Eunice Kim explained, “When we first started thinking about this project, we wanted to create an experience that was more flexible for our broad entertainment offerings, more intuitive and responsive to our members’ needs, and capable of elevating the most thrilling moments on Netflix.”


New features coming to Netflix homepage on TV

Some of the new features announced by Nextlif in the blog post include:
  • Easier Discoveries: Key information like “Emmy Award Winner” or “#1 in TV Shows” will be highlighted, helping users decide what to watch faster.
  • Better Shortcuts: Buttons for Search and My List, which were earlier hidden on the side, will now be placed at the top for easier access.
  • Smarter Recommendations: The homepage will adapt better to users’ moods and interests.
  • Modern Look: The design will be cleaner and more polished.

Netflix mobile app to get new features

Netflix is also testing new tools for mobile users. As announced by the online video streaming platform, Netflix mobile will get an AI-Powered Search feature. Coming as a beta test on iOS, it will allow users to search with natural phrases like, “I want something funny and upbeat.”Another feature teased by the company is Vertical Video Feed. With the new feature, Netflix will soon test a feed of short clips from shows and movies. Users can tap to watch, save, or share them easily.
