Google CEO Sundar Pichai took to X (formerly Twitter) to honor the memory of Ratan Tata, the legendary industrialist and Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons, who passed away at the age of 86. N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, confirmed Tata's passing in an official statement, describing him as "a truly uncommon leader whose immeasurable contributions have shaped not only the Tata Group but also the very fabric of our nation."


"My last meeting with Ratan Tata at Google, we talked about the progress of Waymo and his vision was inspiring to hear," Pichai tweeted.He praised Tata's "extraordinary business and philanthropic legacy" and his instrumental role in mentoring and developing modern business leadership in India.
Pichai emphasised Tata's deep commitment to improving India, stating, "He deeply cared about making India better." He concluded his message with condolences to Tata's loved ones.
Ratan Tata, who led the Tata Group for over two decades, was widely respected for his business acumen and philanthropic efforts. His passing marks the end of an era in Indian industry, leaving a void in the business world that many say will be difficult to fill.

Anand Mahindra, Chairperson of Mahindra and Mahindra, wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "I am unable to accept the absence of Ratan Tata," emphasising how Tata's "mentorship and guidance" would have been invaluable as "India's economy stands on the cusp of a historic leap forward."
