Story Highlights are a popular feature on Instagram, allowing users to compile and pin their favourite Stories to their profile, ensuring they remain visible beyond the standard 24-hour lifespan. The new test aims to bring these Highlights to greater prominence.

After a user finishes watching a friend's or a creator's regular Stories, a new section titled "Story Highlights" may appear. This section would then display a selection of Highlights that the user has not yet viewed. The platform may explore various ways to present these Highlights, such as by creation date or by theme.

This new feature could significantly enhance the user experience by making it easier to discover and engage with curated content. It could also benefit content creators by increasing the visibility of their carefully crafted Story Highlights.

“We’re always working on new ways to help people connect in Stories and are testing bringing recent Highlights to the end of the tray with a small group of people,” a Meta spokesperson told TechCrunch.
