How Benq is gearing up to lead India's projecting boom
Rajeev Singh, MD of BenQ India and Southeast Asia, sees a bright future for projectors in the Indian market. "The market is expected to undergo substantial transformations," he says, pointing to several key trends.
One trend is the demand for premium home theater projectors. Consumers want a cinematic experience at home, and BenQ is addressing this with the launch of the W5800.
"This high-end 4K home cinema projector boasts a 16-inch Quad HD+ Mini LED display, 240Hz refresh rate, and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage," Singh explains, "It delivers superior image quality, color accuracy, and features like 4K resolution and HDR support."
Another trend is the rise of smart features and seamless connectivity. "Projectors with integrated streaming services, wireless mirroring, and compatibility with various devices are gaining traction," says Singh. BenQ's answer? Smart projectors with features like Android TV and Chromecast Built-in.
Energy efficiency is also important. "Consumers are opting for projectors with LED technology due to its longer lifespan, lower maintenance costs, and improved energy efficiency," Singh observes. BenQ has included LED projectors in their latest launches.
When asked what exactly sets BenQ apart in this market, Singh said, "We differentiate ourselves through technical advantages and innovative features," Singh asserts. Their projectors boast THX and ISF certifications, individual color calibration reports, and unmatched color accuracy. "We also offer unique features for different uses." He further cited low input lag for gamers and advanced white balance controls for professionals.

Projectors are becoming important parts of smart homes and offices. "They offer a large, immersive viewing experience that is more affordable than large TVs," Singh explains. BenQ's projectors integrate seamlessly into smart homes with features like CinematicColor™ technology and HDRi technology. They are also vital for offices by enabling BYOD presentations, video conferencing, and collaborations. BenQ offers Smart Projectors for Business with features like Windows OS and built-in Android OS.
By focusing on these trends and continuing to innovate, BenQ is poised to maintain its leadership position in the Indian projector market.
