WWE's Becky Lynch Wanted to 'Punch' Someone Ahead of Her Departure

Five-time Women’s World Champion Becky Lynch recently shed light on one of the most memorable segments from her career. Back in May 2020, Lynch took the ring during an episode of Monday Night Raw and announced her pregnancy. She stated that she would be taking a leave from the ring and, before doing so, she vacated her RAW Women’s title to Asuka.

Lynch later revealed that this was not the original plan and that WWE’s creative teams had something else in mind. Here’s what she had to say about the segment during her conversation with Vulture:

“The whole thing was supposed to go down in this crazy way, where they wanted me coming out and challenging the backstage interviewer. Then Asuka would come out, and I would say all these just elaborate, robust words. It was bad. It was just very bad. But I was also very hormonal. I was ready to punch somebody. You got to know what hills to die on. When you’re early weeks of pregnancy, you don’t know those hills. You’ll die on all of them. I was ready to fight, and I fought. It was better than it was otherwise intended.”
