CHENNAI: Mahindra Racing had a mixed weekend at the Italian Grand Prix in Mugello. The Indian team's German rider Marcel Schrotter earned five points with a 11th place finish in the 125cc race on Sunday while teammate Danny Webb was forced to pull out at halfway stage with severe pain in his right shoulder. The 20-year-old Brit had fractured the shoulder in a morning warm-up crash.
The race was won by Aprilia rider Nicolas Terol (153 points), the Spaniard extending his championship lead to 39 points over Derbi rider Johann Zarco of France.
Schrotter is now 17th on the table with 15 points while Webb has ten points in his kitty and is 22nd.
The other Indian team in the fray, WTR-Ten10 Racing, had a mediocre outing in Italy. Their lead driver, Francesco Mauriello finished 21st in the race after recovering from an early crash while Dutch youngster Sturla Fagerhaug, replacement for injured Sarath Kumar, crashed out.
