Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand, a lifelong Bruin, has expressed his desire to stay with the organization. Despite rising through the ranks, Marchand has expressed his loyalty to the Bruins, stating that the idea of playing for another contender doesn't interest him. However, it's time for the Bruins to move on from their captain. NHL analyst coach Bruce Boudreau has named the Los Angeles Kings as a potential trade destination for Marchand.

NHL analyst Bruce Boudreau has identified the Los Angeles Kings as a potential trade destination for Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand. With the Bruins currently in a playoff spot, rumors suggest Marchand could be dealt before the trade deadline. Boudreau believes Marchand, in his final year of his $49 million contract, would fit well on a line with Anze Kopitar, similar to Kopitar's long-time center Patrice Bergeron in Boston.
"Well, he's a winner. I mean, I could see him going to LA and playing on a line with Kopitar and thinking a little bit of Bergeron stuff there and then, like, LA is going to be looking for a guy that can score,” Boudreau said via 'NHL Tonight'.
“Brad's not a 50 goal scorer, but he's a 30 goal scorer. And I mean, he would fit in really well there. ...I got to tell you, I think any contending team would want Brad Marchand," he added.
The Bruins, who invested millions in their roster to give their stars another Stanley Cup run, have failed to differentiate themselves in a packed Eastern Conference, appearing as a middle-of-the-road squad destined for a first-round exit if they make the postseason.
Marchand may not be interested in joining another team, but the Bruins should consider reacquiring assets for their captain. They have a chance to claim a final Wild Card spot if they improve their play in the final 24 games, but this is unlikely given their initial 58 points.
