Texas teen football star Karmelo Anthony is accused of cold-blooded murder during UIL championship event in front of stunned crowd

A tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the Frisco, Texas community after a 17-year-old student-athlete was fatally stabbed during a high school track and field competition. The suspect, also 17, has been identified as Karmelo Anthony—a football player at Frisco Centennial High School. He has been charged with first-degree murder for allegedly stabbing Austin Metcalf, a student and athlete at Frisco Memorial High School.

The violence occurred during the University Interscholastic League (UIL) District 11-5A Championship held at Kuykendall Stadium, a high-profile event meant to celebrate the athletic talents of Texas high schoolers. According to the Frisco Police Department, a confrontation broke out between the two teens, escalating quickly into a deadly altercation.

Authorities confirmed that Karmelo Anthony allegedly stabbed Metcalf during the heated exchange. Despite the presence of other students and officials at the venue, the attack proved fatal. Police arrested Anthony at the scene. He is currently being held without bail and faces a first-degree felony charge.
