Josh Allen, the quarterback of the Buffalo Bills, has been going through a pretty good phase both in his personal and professional life. He recently won the NFL MVP Award at the NFL Honors 2025, with his fiancee Hailee Steinfeld accompanying him. While wishes pour in for the star player, ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky’s comments about Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson on the recent episode of Get Up stirred some drama among fans and co-hosts.

Dan Orlovsky Claims Josh Allen Brought “Value” To The Team Even Though Lamar Jackson Is The “Better Player”

When ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky admitted that he voted for Josh Allen to win the MVP for this year, his co-host asked him the reason behind it. Dan Orlovsky said, “Cause I think Josh was the value that the player brought to their football team….Josh had a 40 touchdown, 8 turnover, 14 sacks this season. The Bills didn’t have any lead defense.”
He added, “The way Josh played this season and the different style that he played, brought tremendous value to their football team.” ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky then goes on to compare Josh Allen’s exceptional season with his competitor, Baltimore Ravens’ Lamar Jackson.
Dan Orlovsky says Lamar Jackson was “absolutely sensational” and goes on to crown Lamar Jackson as the “best player in football this year”. Dan Orlovsky then adds that bringing “value” having a positive “impact” on the team exceeds being the best player.
Dan Orlovsky goes on to justify that the reason he voted for Josh Allen over Lamar Jackson was because of the “value” Josh Allen brought to his team, the Buffalo Bills.

Fans Slam Dan Orlovsky For His Statements On Josh Allen’s MVP Win At The NFL Honors

This statement of Dan Orlovsky did not go down very well with his co-hosts and fans. Domonique Foxworth was not that happy with Dan Orlovsky’s statement and said, “You don’t got the heart to say what you actually want to say. I think both of them had MVP caliber seasons, but it feels like you are trying to find some little semantics trap door. You can give this to him and that to them, because you don’t actually want to say what you really want to say.”

Fans too are not happy with Dan Orlovsky’s statements. A fan took to X and wrote, “so basically you said the bills gm isnt good at his job so josh gets the mvp”, while another fan wrote, “Kind of hurts to see Dan fall off the way he has. No self respect for himself.”
A third fan wrote, “Dan is part of the problem.. Still can’t believe these guys get paid for these trash takes.”
There has been a lot of debate about Josh Allen’s MVP win but neither he nor his competitor, Lamar Jackson, have officially issued statements for it.
