Even if Deion Sanders likes it or not, the idea of him leaving college football to go to the NFL has become part of the conversation. Sports media heads started talking about Sanders as the dream pick for a franchise such as the Dallas Cowboys. As part of FOX's Big Noon Kickoff, former Alabama running back Mark Ingram II caught up with Deion Sanders Jr., Shedeur, and of course dad ahead of the Buffaloes' game against Utah.
Deion Sanders opens up on whether he wants to coach in the NFL
According to Mark Ingram, Deion Sanders' coaching services to the peewee football team, Shedeur and Silo could end up that way unless Deion joins the NFL. "Whatcha trying to say?" Sanders asked Ingram. "[Shedeur] don't want to see me no more, man," Sanders joked. "I'ma tell you what ... He don't [want me to coach him anymore], but he does.”
Sanders shifted the conversation to Deion Sanders Jr., who owns a production company and frequently produces videos of Deion, Shedeur, and Shilo in Colorado athletics. "He's got the bigger decision, not me!" Deion stated that Jr. would need to decide whether to collaborate with Sr. or Shedeur at the NFL level. "He may have to take flights across the country," Shedeur said after Jr. said he wanted to keep filming both his dad and brother.
According to The Athletic's Dianna Russini, Deion Sanders has not yet drawn the interest of an NFL head coaching position "as of now," with speculation swirling that he could end up landing the Dallas Cowboys. Russini said, "Coach Prime isn't landing at The Star. The 57-year-old University of Colorado coach and Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback has said publicly he wants to stay in college football, despite some theories that Jerry Jones is targeting his former star. Sanders holds an 11-10 record over two seasons with the Buffaloes, and as of now I have not spoken to a team decision-maker interested in bringing Sanders in as an NFL head coach.
