During a recent gaming livestream, Hill casually suggested that Miami needs more “dawgs” on its roster—a statement that didn’t sit well with everyone. And former NFL quarterback Cam Newton wasn’t about to let it slide.Tyreek Hill never fails to keep things interesting, does he? Whether it’s making highlight-reel plays or stirring the pot, the Dolphins wide receiver always finds a way to dominate the conversation. And this time, it’s his own words that have sparked a debate within the NFL community.
Cam Newton Questions Tyreek Hill’s Statement: “Jalen Ramsey Ain’t a Dawg?”
"Ring Chasing Is Overrated!" & Cam Disagrees with Tyreek Hill's "Get More Dogs" in Miami
Newton, never one to hold back, fired back at Hill’s comments, questioning what exactly the Dolphins star meant.
“who are you talking about…thought you had Jalen Ramsey, ain’t no dawg? Odell (Beckham), ain’t a dawg?” Newton said, clearly pushing back against the idea that Miami lacks star power.
He even took a jab at Hill’s journey to superstardom, reminding him that it took years in Kansas City before he became the player he is today.
“Tyreek didn’t become Tyreek until after a couple of years in Kansas City, but that ain’t the point. My point is when you say, man, get some m—g dogs, who are you referring to who would you want to replace…. This roster that you got, Tyreek Hill, is way better than the Washington commanders on paper,”With Miami already packed with talent, Newton wasn’t the only one raising eyebrows at Hill’s claim. Even his own teammates had mixed reactions.
De’Von Achane Weighs in on Tyreek Hill’s Comments: “We Got Dawgs, But…”
While some dismissed Hill’s statement as frustration, Dolphins running back De’Von Achane offered a more balanced perspective.
“We got dawgs, we just need more people to bring it out,” Achane said on the Up & Adams show. His response was interesting—it wasn’t a direct disagreement, but it also didn’t completely back Hill’s stance. Instead, it seemed like he was pointing to a bigger issue: Maybe the problem isn’t the roster, but how they play together.
Hill Tries to Clear the Air—But Does It Work?
After his comment caused a stir, Hill quickly tried to explain himself, claiming that his words came from frustration after Miami’s season ended.
“Bro, y’all don’t understand, I bust my ass every day. I deserve to feel like that. I deserve to have some kind of opinion.” Hill said.
But his attempt to clarify didn’t exactly win over everyone. Even if he didn’t mean to call out his teammates directly, the message was received loud and clear.
What’s Really Missing in Miami?
The Dolphins don’t have a lack of talent—on paper, their roster is stacked. So, is Hill right to demand more “dawgs,” or is the real issue something deeper?
One thing is certain: This conversation isn’t over, and with Hill at the center of it, Miami’s offseason just got a whole lot more interesting. Let’s see how this plays out.
