Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert’s divorce continues to make headlines as accusations fly between the former couple. The latest development sees Taylor accusing Shumpert of leaking details about their sealed divorce case to the media, allegedly to boost interest in his rap career. However, Shumpert firmly denies these claims. With his attorney, Stephen C. Steele, the former NBA star released a statement insisting that his client had no involvement in the spread of information.

Iman Shumpert recently claimed that he had nothing to do with the leaked information of their divorce settlement. According to Stephen C. Steele, Shumpert “adamantly denies” providing any details about the case to media outlets.
“My client, Mr. Iman Shumpert, has never whatsoever leaked any allegations or claims stated in any of the pleadings in the Taylor/Shumpert divorce case,” the attorney stated in an exclusive chat with TMZ Sports. He went on to assure that Shumpert has complied fully with the court’s order sealing their divorce records and will continue to do so. “He has absolutely no interest in discussing any of these private and personal details with any media or any parties not directly involved with this case.”
However, Teyana Taylor is convinced he played a role in the leaked information. In legal documents filed earlier this week, she claimed that the reports misrepresented how their assets were divided. She asserted that there was no actual “settlement” in their divorce, but rather, both parties were given what the court awarded them.
In her latest Instagram live, Taylor shared that she paid for everything she walked away with, including her vehicles and tour bus, and noted that she had to purchase a new Maybach after Shumpert crashed and abandoned her Rolls Royce. Additionally, she clarified that she was awarded four properties, while Shumpert received three, one of which, a Miami condo, was originally a gift from him to her.

Taylor’s legal team has reportedly (per E! News) filed a petition for citation of contempt against Shumpert, requesting the court to impose a $1,000 fine and sentence him to 20 days in jail for allegedly leaking the information. In her livestream, The Book of Clarence actress refused the claim to throw her ex in jail, “I never tried to send Iman to jail. I’m still not trying to send Iman to jail.”

It is apparent that Taylor is ready to move on from the drama. Even so, reports of her newfound romance surfaced shortly after she attended the 2025 Oscars and Vanity Fair afterparty with actor Aaron Pierre. “Oscar night in black & white, no grey area. [white heart],” she captioned a post featuring her and Pierre, hinting at a new chapter in her life. The former couple shares three children together, Annie, Lily and Joe.
