  • Anthony Edwards vows to stay silent and focused in the NBA Playoffs, aiming to dodge costly suspensions.
  • Magic Johnson says he’s “scared for my Lakers” as he calls Ant-Man the game’s most exciting matchup problem.
  • After having his 18th technical foul rescinded, Edwards is doubling down on discipline—with his playoff strategy centered on silence.
Anthony Edwards is no stranger to being on the receiving end of technical fouls. However, Edwards is coming up with a no-nonsense strategy to be risk-free with technical fouls in the highly anticipated playoffs. Certainly, for fans, it is hard to believe Ant-Man’s word for it, but it’s a lofty promise, and only time will tell if he can keep it up. Still, Edwards’ promise has made a swift buzz on social media as he is set to implement his ironclad tactics.

Anthony Edwards reveals his plan to avoid technical fouls in the playoffs

“Yeah, I won’t get no techs,” Anthony Edwards sounded quite confident as he boldly predicted that he would be out of the danger zone to strategically avoid technical fouls. And the strategy is? Edwards said he will be super quiet. “I won’t say anything. I’m going to stay super quiet. One hundred percent.”

If Edwards could manage his gameplay to avoid the fouls, he would be more lethal than ever, at least Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson has all the right reasons to believe so. In a series of posts on X, Johnson shared that he is super excited for the Los Angeles Lakers vs the Minnesota Timberwolves game. “I will be glued to my TV during this year’s Playoffs and I’ll be at every Lakers vs. Timberwolves game watching three of the NBA’s most exciting players- LeBron James, Luca Doncic, and Anthony Edwards!” Johnson shared on X.

In a separate post on the platform, the Hall of Famer showed concern for the Lakers, primarily for Ant-Man. “I’m scared for my Lakers because the game’s most exciting player, superstar Anthony Edwards, is a matchup problem,” he shared.
The Timberwolves roster is solid; they have Naz Reid and Donte DiVincenzo to aid Edwards.
About a week ago, the 23-year-old Timberwolves star was declared available for the team's regular-season finale after the NBA officially rescinded his 18th technical foul.
Edwards was originally hit with the tech during Minnesota’s 117-91 win over the Brooklyn Nets, where he used profanity while disputing a foul call. “I tried to play good defense. They called a foul and he gave me a tech,” Edwards said postgame. “I don’t feel like it should’ve been a tech, but me and (referee) Ray (Acosta) got a good relationship. We talked it out after the fact. But I don’t think I deserved a tech for just that little gesture.”
The league’s technical foul policy enforces an automatic suspension after every two technicals beyond the 16th. Edwards had already served one suspension earlier this season.

Regardless, Edwards is seemingly looking to be careful with his next approach, as he is far more important for the team to sustain their position in the playoffs.
