Shohei Ohtani shares adorable photos of his dog Decoy posing with bobblehead after historic win

The Los Angeles Dodgers’ star, Shohei Ohtani, made history with an unbeatable score, that too, on his bobblehead night. After winning against the Atlanta Braves, Ohtani celebrated and took some of his celebrations to Instagram, which features his dog, Decoy, posing with Ohtani’s bobblehead.

Shohei Ohtani shared a series of Instagram stories. He also shared several other stories that were posted by his friends, praising him for his stunning performance against the Atlanta Braves, that too, on his bobblehead night. Ohtani shared a photo with his bobblehead and treats for his dog, Decoy. The white coloured treats had the inscription — National League — Most Valuable Pet. The treats were placed on a table with flowers surrounding it.

The next Instagram story was adorable. Decoy, who was looking cute, was posing with Shohei Ohtani’s bobblehead, while sitting on a sofa.

Shohei Ohtani’s dog, Decoy Ohtani was born on June 18, 2023. In Japanese, Decoy is known as Dekopin, which means, the act of flicking a person on the forehead. He is a Kooikerhondje. Decoy has his own fan base apart from Shohei Ohtani and he’s considered the team’s “Most Valuable Pet". Decoy also featured in merchandise and was granted an honorary visa by the Embassy of the United States in Tokyo. One of the most memorable moments for Ohtani and Decoy were when Ohtani held Decoy in his lap when he won his second Major League Baseball Most Valuable Player award in November 2023. He gave Decoy a high five.
Decoy can often be found in Shohei Ohtani’s Instagram posts after his victories. Decoy is his biggest fan. In the past, Decoy has made several appearances both on and off the field.

Shohei Ohtani was a game changer for the game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves. He took the game with a score of 6-5, leaving Dodgers' unbeaten record 8-0. Ohtani finished the Dodgers’ sixth comeback win, in at least 8 games. That too on his bobblehead night of the season, which was celebrated to commemorate his 2024 MVP season, he walked off a homer to the center field, beating the Atlanta Braves. It was indeed a historic moment for Dodgers.

Right after the game, the MLB Network spoke to Shohei Ohtani on how he felt after securing the win for the team. He said:
“I just wanted to live up to the expectations of the fans today to make sure I perform. I am honored to feel the pressure because that means there are a lot of expectations…”
