Former captain Nida Dar, Aliya Riaz, and Sidra Nawaz dropped from PCB's central contracts

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced 16 centrally contracted women cricketers, reducing the list from 20. Notable players like Nida Dar, Aliya Riaz, and Sidra Nawaz have been dropped due to recent team performance. The PCB aims to develop young talent, with promotions for Muneeba Ali, Fatima Sana, and Sadia Iqbal, and a first-time contract for Tasmia Rubab.

NEW DELHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced its list of centrally contracted women cricketers for the upcoming season, with a focus on nurturing young talent. The board has awarded contracts to 16 players, a reduction from the 20 contracts awarded last year.
Notable omissions from the list include former captain Nida Dar, Aliya Riaz, and Sidra Nawaz, who have been consistent performers for the national team over the years.
Other players like Anosha Nasir, Eyman Fatima, and Shawaal Zulfiqar have also been dropped.
The PCB's decision is attributed to the team's recent poor performances, and the board aims to groom younger players in line with the ICC Women's Future Tours Programme 2025-29.

Muneeba Ali and skipper Fatima Sana have been elevated to Category A, while spin all-rounder Sadia Iqbal has received a promotion.
PCB Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmad Syed emphasized the board's commitment to recognizing consistent performances and rewarding talent.
Youngster Tasmia Rubab has earned her first central contract, while Rameen Shamim and Gull Feroza have returned to the list after a gap.
The centrally contracted players have been divided into four categories.
List of centrally contracted players:
  • Category A: Fatima Sana, Muneeba Ali, Sidra Amin
  • Category B: Nashra Sundhu, Sadia Iqbal
  • Category C: Diana Baig, Omaima Sohail
  • Category D: Ghulam Fatima, Gull Feroza, Najiha Alvi, Rameen Shamim, Sadaf Shamas, Syeda Aroob Shah, Tasmia Rubab, Tuba Hassan, Umm-e-Hani.
