SRINAGAR: Top-ranked Aditya Prakash along with other seeded men's singles players in the qualifiers on Thursday reached the main draw of the 77th National Badminton Championship to be played from September 30 to October 3.
Karnataka's Prakash defeated Punjab's Prateek Mahajan 21-14, 21-9 in 20 minutes to join seven others in the main round which boasts big names like Sourabh Varma, Sai Praneeth B and Arvind Bhat.
In the women's singles qualifier, top-seed Sanyogita Ghorpade of Maharashtra sealed her place in the main draw defeating Manali Sinha of Assam 21-13, 21-16.
Other seeded entries in the women's section, Chitra Lekha (2), Varsha Belawadi (3) and G M Nischitha (4) also entered the main round of the tournament.
