Summer season is here, and it’s that time of the year when traditional delights like Jaljeera make a comeback! This desi drink has a cool potency that can reduce the body heat. In fact, it is one of the most popular desi drinks you can find in almost any nook and corner of the city, but what exactly is jaljeera, and can it be prepared at home? Read on to find out�/p>

Ingredients:

1/4 cup roasted cumin seeds, 1 tbsp black salt , 1 tsp ginger powder (sauf), 1 tsp black pepper (kali mirch), 1/2 tsp ajwain (carom seeds), 1 tbsp fresh mint leaves, juice of 1 lemon, and sugar as needed.

Step 1

To begin with this simple drink mix, roast cumin seeds lightly until aromatic, then grind them into a fine powder.

Mix this with black salt, ginger powder, black pepper, and ajwain. This is the Jaljeera spice mix.

In a jug, add chilled water and stir in 2-3 tablespoons of the spice mix.
