Four children playing in abandoned car die of suffocation in Tamil Nadu village

The struggle of children had gone unnoticed since the cars had been abandoned for several months.

TUTICORIN: Four children died of suffocation after they accidently got stuck in an abandoned car at Vedanatham in the Tuticorin district of Tamil Nadu on Wednesday.
According to police sources, a festival was taking place in Vedanatham.
K Isakkiammal, 8, A Muthazhagu, 10, S Moses, 7, and P Aadhi, 4, were playing during the festival. At around 8.30 am, they went to a vacant plot where cars seized by a private financier were parked.

The children got into a car and started to play. They were trapped in the car when all doors were shut accidently. They could not open the jammed doors and died of suffocation.
The dead bodies were spotted by relatives around 1.30pm when they started searching for the children.
The struggle of children to escape had gone unnoticed since the cars had been abandoned for several months, police said.
