Elon Musk welcomes 14th child: Meaning of Seldon Lycurgus, his son's name

There’s yet another latest addition to the Musk clan!
It’s another baby, Musk’s 14th child to be precise - including Ashley St. Clair’s child, who she claims to be Elon’s child.
Joining the Musk baby clan, now it’s Seldon Lycurgus, mothered by Elon Musk’s on-again-off-again partner and Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis.

Shivon Zilis took to X (formerly, Twitter) to share this piece of news and posted, “Discussed with Elon and, in light of beautiful Arcadia’s birthday, we felt it was better to also just share directly about our wonderful and incredible son Seldon Lycurgus. Built like a juggernaut, with a solid heart of gold. Love him so much.”

Shivon made the announcement on X while celebrating their third child, Arcadia's first birthday.
The Tesla CEO and Zilis share four children: the twins Strider and Azure, Arcadia, and now Seldon. Until now, the name and gender of their third child had not been publicly disclosed.
Earlier, on February 28, Zilis, in two separate posts, revealed the gender and name of her third child with Musk, writing "Happy 1st birthday, darling Arcadia. Mommy loves you with all her heart."

Along with her and Musk’s third child’s name and gender, Shivon revealed the same information about their fourth child as well. The little fella is called Seldon Lycurgus.
Now, it’s become common knowledge that Musk likes to give his kids names that are very off the beaten track. This time is no different. Following suit, Seldon Lycurgus too has some complex meaning.
The name Seldon is likely a reference to Hari Seldon, a character from Isaac Asimov's Foundation series. A mathematician and visionary, Seldon developed "psychohistory," a concept used to predict and shape the future of civilisation.

Given Musk's well-documented admiration for science fiction, the connection seems fitting.
On the other hand, Lycurgus refers to the ancient Spartan lawgiver credited with shaping Sparta's military-focused society and governance. Known for his wisdom and strict legal reforms, he is said to have created eunomia, a system of "good order" that Spartans revered.
Not just Seldon Lycurgus, their third child, likely a girl, who is named Arcadia, too has a special meaning behind her name.
Arcadia has a meaning rooted in Greek history. In classical literature, Arcadia represents an idyllic land of peace, simplicity, and harmony with nature.
However, we’re yet to know the last name of Arcadia, if she has one.
