The pre-release event for 'Robinhood,' a Telugu heist action-comedy, was held recently with the presence of Australian cricketer
David Warner. The film, starring
Nithiin and Sreeleela, is set to release soon. However, the event was not without controversy, as a comment by
Rajendra Prasad about Warner led to mixed reactions on social media. During the event, Rajendra Prasad made a comment about Warner that was intended to be humorous but was perceived as inappropriate by some. The remark triggered a backlash on social media, with fans expressing disappointment.
However, as per the Gulte report, director Venky Kudumula clarified that the comment was meant in jest and that Warner, unfamiliar with Telugu, might not have fully understood the context. As per the same report, Warner responded, "I've seen a lot of sledging in cricket. This felt like fun in acting. He was just joking."
Earlier, the film also faced controversy over the portrayal of Ketika Sharma in the song 'Adhi Dha Surprisu.'
Warner, known for his love of Telugu cinema, is making his acting debut with a cameo in 'Robinhood.' He has been a fan favorite in the Telugu states, often recreating iconic dance moves from films like 'Pushpa' and 'Sarileru Neekevvaru.
'At the event, Warner expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and support he has received over the years. He was nervous about transitioning from cricket to acting but felt humbled to be part of the film.

The film features a supporting cast that includes
Shine Tom Chacko, Rajendra Prasad, and
