'Gang's' remake rights dispute settled

’ in Telugu ran into a bit of a trouble following a dispute over remake rights. Actor Prashanth’s mother, Shanthi Thyagarajan, who claimed that she had acquired the rights of the Bollywood film, ‘Special 26’, on which the film has been made, had filed a case against its release.

Though the production house owned

had entered into an agreement in September 2016 and obtained the rights to remake the movie in Tamil, the agreement was valid for one year within which the film wasn’t made. Thus the Madras High Court cleared the decks for the release of the movie in both Tamil and Telugu on January 12.

The movie directed by Vignesh Shivan also features Karthik, Suresh Chandra Menon, Sudhakar, Senthil, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyan, RJ Balaji in pivotal roles. Anirudh Ravichander has composed music for the movie and
