South Indian cinema's brightest stars took to social media to share their warmth and wishes with fans marking the beginning of Ugadi today on March 30th. This Telugu and Kannada New Year celebration saw celebrities from across the industry conveying messages of hope, prosperity, and new beginnings.
Star's wishes
Megastar Chiranjeevi shared a heartfelt message on X (formerly Twitter). He wished everyone a joyous Ugadi and expressed hope that the Sun God would bring prosperity, happiness, and peace to all in the coming year. His words, originally in Telugu, read, "అందరికీ శ్రీ విశ్వావసు నామ ఉగాది శుభాకాంక్షలు ! ప్రతి రోజూ ఉదయించే సూర్య భగవానుడే అధిపతి అయిన ఈ సంవత్సరం అందరి జీవితాలలో సమృద్ధి, సంతోషం, శాంతి కలుగజేయాలని ఆశిస్తున్నాను. Happy Ugadi to All !!'
Jr NTR shared his own festive greetings as the 'RRR' star extended his wishes not just for Ugadi, but also for Gudi Padwa and Chaitra Sukhladi. He wrote, "మీకు మరియు మీ కుటుంబ సభ్యులకు విశ్వావసు నామ సంవత్సర ఉగాది శుభాకాంక్షలు. Wishing everyone a Happy Ugadi, Gudi Padwa and Chaitra Sukhladi."
Mahesh Babu and Namrata Shirodkar joined the chorus of well-wishers, sharing their hopes for a prosperous year ahead. Their daughter Sitara Ghattamaneni shared her wishes as well.

On the other hand, Rakul Preet Singh took to her Instagram stories, where she shared, "Celebrate happy Ugadi festival with joy, prosperity and new beginnings for a blessed year ahead!".
Significance of Ugadi
Ugadi, celebrated with great enthusiasm in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka, marks the beginning of the Hindu lunisolar calendar's Chaitra month. It's a time for new beginnings, symbolized by the preparation of Ugadi pachadi, a dish that combines six flavours representing the different experiences of life.
All the stars have multiple films in their pipeline, with Chiranjeevi working on his next, mega-socio film, 'Vishwambhara'. Jr NTR will be next seen in 'War 2' marking his Bollywood debut and will be working with Prashanth Neel.
Mahesh Babu is working on the mega film 'SSMB29' directed by SS Rajamouli.
