Goundamani, who was last seen in the 2017-film Vaaimai, will be playing the lead in a comedy titled Otha Votu Muthaiya. The film will be directed by Sai Rajagopal, who made Sundari Neeyum Sundaran Naanaum and Kicha Vayasu 16.
“I have worked with Goundamani annan for over 70 films, writing the comedy tracks of his films like Jai Hind, Karna and Kattabomman. We were planning to work together, and during the COVID lockdowns, I started writing a story with him in mind,” states Sai Rajagopal.
“The film will be a comedy with elements of family drama and political satire. Goundamani annan plays a politician and an elder brother who insists on marrying off his three sisters only to three brothers. Does he manage to fulfill his wish and how politics comes into the equation is what the plot is all about,” reveals the director.
A host of comedy actors, including Yogi Babu, Mottai Rajendran, Thambi Ramaiah, Marimuthu, Singamuthu, and Sathish, will be part of the supporting cast. The varisus of three comedians — Gajesh (Nagesh’s grandson), Anbu Mayilsamy (Mayilsamy’s son), and Vasan Karthik (Singamuthu’s son) — play the suitors to Goundamani’s sisters.
