While talking to media, the actress said that her father got admitted for renal issues and never had any symptoms of COVID. But he was tested positive and passed away due to the virus infection. The final rites were undertaken as per the COVID protocol. Shanthi Krishna, an accomplished dancer started her film career with Bharathan's directorial Nidra in Malayalam in 1981. Paneer Pushpangal was her first Tamil film, and she went on to do some memorable roles in Tamil with movies like Manal Kayiru, Chinna Mul Periya Mul and Sivappu Malli, among others. Though she took a break from acting after her first marriage, she resumed acting in 1991. Again, she took a break from films in 1997 and became active again from 2017 with a Nivin Pauly-starrer movie.
