I’m passionate for literature: Thirumalai
One reason why the Tamil film industry is rated as one of the best in the country is because most of its films have strong storylines with sensible messages.
And Agam Puram, which has Shaam and Meenakshi playing the lead, is no different. The film, its director claims, has a strong message for the society.
Says director Thirumalai, while commenting on his film that is to hit screens in the second week of November, My movie emphasises the fact that everybody who commits mistakes will be punished.
1x1 polls
Those at fault may have a thousand reasons for having committed the mistake, but despite their excuses, they will have to be punished.
But why the title Agam Puram? Explains the director, Im someone who has a passion for literature. In Tamil literature, the word agam refers to the inside while puram refers to the outside. The protagonist of this story, played by Shaam, has two facets. To the outside world, he is an altruist. However, there is a deep, dark side to him that the world doesnt know about and of which only he is aware.
The movie, apart from Shaam and Meenakshi, will also feature Kashmira Shah, Megha Khan and Anand Raj. Discloses the director, For the first time, Anand Raj plays an honest cop in this film. Also, my film has four villains in it. They include Cheran Raj, Shimon and Moogambikai Ravi.
Thirumalai is also confident that apart from the message, the movies climax too will come in for praise. Ask him for details on Meenakshis role in the film and he discloses that she plays a philanthropist who has a soft corner for orphans.
Meenakshi plays the role of an orphan who later chooses to take care of such children. She has a soft corner for the hero, despite getting to know his darker side, he says.
Sundar C Babu has composed five songs for the film which has camera by Y N Murali.
