The winners of the 68th National Film Awards have been announced in Delhi.
Rahul Deshpande has bagged the prestigious award as Best Playback Singer for Marathi film 'Mee Vasantrao'.

Nipun Dharmadhikari, Mee Vasantrao is a biopic based on the life of music legend Dr Vasantrao Deshpande, who is the grandfather of Rahul Deshpande.
Rahul has essayed his role on the screen and had sung songs like Ghei Chand Makarand and Vitthala Darshan Deun Jaa.
The period film was extensively shot in Nagpur.
In an earlier chat with us, Rahul had said, “Indian classical music is in a much better space than it was 10 years ago. I say this because we have more avenues available now. Plus, social media is a great platform to connect with your audience. I strongly feel that the younger generation likes to listen to classical music. It’s a favourable time for the classical genre.”
