Vishnu Sasi Shankar, who helmed the Unni Mukundan starrer 'Malikappuram', has announced his next. He is reuniting with Abhilash Pillai, who had scripted ‘Malikappuram’. The duo are reuniting for a film, which will also have ‘Malikappuram’s child actors, Deva Nanda and Sripad.
The makers made the announcement on scriptwriter Abhilash Pillai’s birthday on Thursday, January 5. The film will hit the big screens this year.
The yet-to-be-titled film will also have Ranjin Raj as the composer. Other details regarding the cast and crew are currently unavailable.
Vishnu Sai Shankar made his debut as a director with ‘Malikappuram’. Starring Unni Mukundan in the lead role, ‘Malikappuram’ revolves around a girl, whose Sabarimala pilgrimage gets delayed, who decides to go to the shrine along with her friend. Actors Saiju Kurup, TG Ravi, Manoj K Jayan, Ramesh Pisharody, Sampath Ram, Sripath, and Alfie Panjikaran played some pivotal roles in the film. Abhilash Pillai’s script for the film turned out to be a true winner, with the film entering the Rs 100 crore club. The film, which was released in December 2022, went on to win the hearts of Aiyyappa devotees for all the right reasons.
